The Mightiest Looks From Chis Hemsworth and Natalie Portman

More and more epic photos of co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman grace our feed as they reprise their roles in the latest Marvel film. Thor: Love and Thunder has fans excited to see more of the two but for us, we're excited about all the red carpet looks. These two have shown legendary styles, with their hair a large part of their iconic career-defining looks. We took a look back and here are our top picks from their broad style library!

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth’s steely blue eyes may be his main facial feature, but for us, his hair is certainly a close second. So much so that memes have been made particularly about his luscious blonde mane as the Norse god (remember Thoréal Paris?) Although he wore a wig for the role, he has shown that his textured locks and prominent widow's peak are central to his overall celebrity style.

Textured Crew Cut

Let's start it off with his classic crew cut. Even before he started to bulk up, his hair had already shown he was built to be like a warrior. With his oval-shaped face and prominent brow ridge there is no hiding under a hairstyle like this. Get the look by asking your barber for a short crop on the back and sides. You can use a small amount of light texturing cream like American Crew Fiber Cream, P860, to create a slightly disheveled but stylish texture on top.

Tousled Quiff

You'll notice that Chri's face shape is very much defined by his widow's peak best appreciated in his quiff cuts. The cut in itself has variations but our favorite is the more boyish one he sported in Men In Black: International, with a bit of a tossed cyclone happening just around the hairline. Some men find this feature tough to work, but if you're ready to get the look, you'll need to grow out your hair a bit and ask your barber for a quiff. Style with Aveda Pureformance Grooming Clay, P1,900, which has a pliable hold that sets your hair in place.

Surfer Beach Waves on Long Blonde Hair

Generally we refrain from featuring wigs for our top picks but we would be remiss not to mention the flowing golden mane from Hemsworth’s most iconic role. With over a decade as Thor, this may be the look we've seen of him the most. The great thing about Chris Hemsworth's hair choices is the element of scruff to them. Proving that long hair can be just a symbol of might as any hair.  Got the locks to pull this off? Get the look by applying Davines Sea Salt Spray, P1,350, to the lengths for a bit of a weather-worn but not frizzy style. Dab a bit of American Crew Pomade, P860, to the roots for for control and definition.

Natalie Portman

A child assassin, a damaged Balerina, a queen, a scientist, and now the god of thunder, this plethora of styles spanning a range of characters has shown just how versatile Natalie Portman can be. Her graceful demeanor and angelic features, maybe the constant that makes us root for any character she takes on, but her hair is the area we see the most playfulness from her. From short crops to long luscious elegant waves, here are some memorable styles to look back on.

Sky High Pompadour

We start with this because it proves she can look good in even the most difficult cuts to the sport. To get the look you'll need some length to work with. Build up the roots by applying a working hairspray like AVEDA Air Control Light Hold Hair Spray, P600, and teasing the top layer of the hair until a nice pillowy base is made. Swing over the hair all the way combing the top layer of the pompadour lightly.

Long Bob + Ombré

Among the styles we see her in, this would probably be the staple and one we see her in both on and off-screen. Whether on beach waves or just straight down, her lob (long bob) complements her child-like graceful features. A long bob sits between the nape and the shoulder, while an ombre is a hand painting technique stylists use to transition dark on top to a lighter shade in the mid-lengths.

Interested in the look? Ask your stylist for a lob cut that complements your face shape then get yourself an ombré that plays between a chocolate brunette and a deep golden blonde. Don't forget that this style needs to look vibrant and healthy, so make sure you have a pigmented hair mask like Wella Color Refresh in Golden Gloss, P1,199, that helps condition hair as it redeposits color back into your strands to remedy color fading on your ombré!

Elegant Extreme Part

There is something about an extreme part that makes one look all the more regal. Perhaps it's the added root volume or the way it contours the face, but on Natalie Portman, it's simply divine. Our favorite is when it has loads of volume and movement allowing for a more playful side from the otherwise quite serious brainy characters she usually plays. To get the look, you need some root volume powder like Schwartzkopf Osis + Dust It, P1,200, this will help you build more volume in your hair. Then seal the part with a nice medium hold hair spray like Davines This is an Invisible No Gas Spray: For Shape Forming, Brushable Looks, P1,250, with it’s fine mist nozzle for pliable styles.
