What are the different types of scalp concern & how do I know which issue my scalp is experiencing?
In taking care of hair and scalp, it is important to understand the different types of scalps first before running off and buying the most attractive products. To plan your hair care regime, you need to understand whether your scalp is:
      • Normal
      • Oily Scalp
      • Combination
      • Dandruff
      • Aging Scalp
      • Thinning Hair
      • Dry and Itchy

Normal Scalp
If you have a normal scalp, well you are lucky indeed because your scalp has natural gloss and shine and it is soft to touch.

Oily Scalp
Due to excess sebum, the scalp can look oily while the hair looks slick, heavy, and stringy. Those experiencing an oily scalp frequently report experiencing itchy scalps, which is typically accompanied by visible dandruff.

gentle, but effective cleansing process is crucial to work against stringy hair. Also, avoid heavy caring products to allow for increased absorption of sebum in the hair.  To help manage an oily scalp, we recommend you try out Naturaltech Rebalancing Shampoo. This shampoo effectively contrasts sebum hyperproduction and the rebound effect often associated with sebum regulating treatments.

Dandruff
If you are prone to dandruff, then make sure you treat the problem immediately. This condition is harmless and can be easily diagnosed when white flakes of dead skin appear in the hair and scalp. Dandruff can develop where there are dry or oily scalp imbalances. Sometimes you may have a combination of oily and dry scalp and this is usually common in the tropical climates like in the Philippines.

Products with anti-microbial ingredients work effectively against the formation of dandruff. We recommend that you use the best-selling Naturaltech Purifying Shampoo and Gel for scalps with dry or greasy dandruff. This anti-dandruff duo is concentrated enough to fight microbe-causing flakes.

Aging Scalp
External influences and environmental factors such as pollution, air conditioning and heating can easily disturb the moisture balance found within the scalp. The scalp can also age out due to insufficient care after chemical treatments or insufficient protection from UV rays.

The scalp should be treated with a mild shampoo – products with a high alcohol content should be avoided to prevent the scalp from aging out.

You can use Naturaltech Renewing Anti-Aging Therapy Set for the maintenance of the scalp and hair well-being to support the preventive treatment of aging.

Thinning Hair
When hair is thinning, it means it lacks strength and density. Hair becomes weaker and less dense over time, which is when noticeable hair loss can occur. Losing 100 or more hair strands per day can be considered a disorder that results in thinning hair.

For optimum results, it is recommended to use anti-hair loss products such as Naturaltech Energizing shampoo, followed by Energizing Superactive Tonic. This combination will  help provide a fuller hair feeling and denser looking hair.

Dry and Itchy Scalp
An itchy scalp, or dry scalp, is a common problem that can cause frustrating symptoms, such as frequent scratching and discomfort. A dry scalp can show small white dead skin cells and clients may complain about occasional itching, and redness, as well as a feeling of tension.
gentle, and effective cleansing process is recommended to soothe sensitive scalps. Made with blueberry phytoceuticals and essential oils, Davines Calming Shampoo is designed to treat scalps that are inflamed, itchy, or irritated.
We hope we were able to get to the root of all of your scalp concerns. However, just remember that a product that works on someone else, may not always work for you. Understanding what your scalp needs will help you address its concerns properly.
